Jim Kringle visits the Blackpool Magic Convention. What does Santa Claus do when he’s not busy at Christmas? Well he’s busy up in the North Pole but what about his helpers?
People often ask me what happens outside of the busy Christmas period (generally November until New Year). Well apart from photo/video shoots in preparation, and any promotional appearances, it’s really a time for chilling and getting out and about to meet lots of people and do new things. For the last two years I’ve enjoyed going to the BMC, which is the largest in the world and draws in thousands of entertainers and performers from across the globe. Many fellow helpers of Santa Claus are also magicians and I’m getting to know some as the BMC is a friendly place where people are happy to chat whilst waiting in line or just in passing. I put out a Instagram photo reel showing just some of the many people I chatted with – I’m sure you can spot a Santa helper or two!

And I also featured in Jack Rhodes’ gala show, where he chose a Santa hat to mark out his volunteer – much humour to be had after choosing me of course! But he did call me a Legend in a video that he uploaded about his BMC experience this year (It’s worth watching all of it, of course). I hope you enjoy my attempt at a rabbit in the headlights look as the camera zoomed in on me – the audience had a good laugh for sure.
So I’m looking forward to more adventures this year whilst planning out the Christmas season and have just secured my ticket to the BMC 2027 next February – if you’re into magic maybe check it out and join me!
If you like the thought of having Santa at any time of year to put some fun into your event then please get in contact!
